Esox lucius is the name of a species of marine bony fish. Their skin is covered with scales and it is also one of the most delicious fish in the Caspian Sea basin. This fish has an elongated appearance, a long and compact texture, with small eyes and a very short nose, a very large and wide mouth and teeth. It has a lot of unequal sizes. Their lower jaw is generally longer than their upper jaw. There are two examples of Esox lucius in Iran called leopard and tiger, the type of leopard is orange or light brown, but the type of tiger is gray and silver. This fish has very fast attacks and in addition to the upper and lower jaw, it also has teeth on the tongue to direct the prey towards the throat and gills
This fish is called a freshwater shark because, like a shark, it has a strong sense of smell and can smell fish from very long distances. The reason for naming this fish is because of its mouth, which is very similar to a duck. Duck fish can grow up to a maximum length of 183 cm and reach a maximum weight of 35 kg
